FRANÇOIS

François Longpré

François started skiing at Mont Kanasuta in the Abitibi region of Québec at 11 years old. His passion brought him to the Rockies in 1999. He then,  first worked as a night cleaner so he could ski Lake Louise every day of the week! The year after, was his first in the ski industry as he became a pro ski patroller at Nakiska Ski Resort in Kananaskis. He then also did his first avalanche course (RAC) and it was the start of his backcountry adventures.

Since then he has worked as a pro patrol, avalanche technician and ski guide. This from coast to coast and also abroad in France. He has explored most mountain range in Canada as well as  in many other countries. But his most memorable experiences were in the Canadian Arctic.

The North Coast of BC has been his base camp since 2007. François has a parallel career as a bush pilot which he loves especially when it permits him to scope some new ski zones !

Ridding in remote area, that is what we love! HOw about naming a first descent ?
